Transforming physics learning via Research & practice

30 June – 4 July 2025, Leiden University, Gorlaeus building

The GIREP 2025 Conference (GIREP-EPEC) will be held in Leiden, The Netherlands. The conference is organized from 30 June – 4 July 2025, jointly by the International Research Group on Physics Teaching (GIREP), The Educational division of the European Physical Society (EPS-EPEC), and two institutes at Leiden University, The Netherlands: the Leiden Institute of Physics (LION) and the Leiden University Graduate School of Teaching (ICLON). The programme is planned from Monday morning until Friday afternoon and will consist of plenary talks, parallel oral sessions, symposia, panel discussions, workshops, and poster sessions. In addition, social events will allow you to both network and experience Leiden and The Netherlands optimally.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION OPEN

The abstract submission for the conference has been opened and we invite you to propose abstracts for symposia, oral presentations, posters, and workshops according to the conference theme as described below. The conference theme, Transforming Physics Learning via Research and Practice, reflects the need for research and practice to work together in developing physics education. The idea of the conference is to gather participants involved in physics education from different perspectives and at different levels and to put them together in a general discussion on various aspects of physics education – for better mutual understanding and revival of learning of the young generation and society as whole. We strongly support and encourage physics teachers worldwide to come to the GIREP 2025 conference to share their experiences and discuss the current problems of physics education with their teacher colleagues from other countries and researchers from all around the world.
